Abstract This chapter focuses on developing self-advocacy and self-determination skills that enable clients to actively manage their goals and personal growth. It introduces objectives centered on understanding the importance of self-advocacy, identifying obstacles, respecting social boundaries, and practicing assertive communication. The chapter emphasizes self-determination as the ability to know oneself, make informed choices, and balance autonomy with appropriate disclosure, using worksheets and guided discussions to enhance learning. It trainsclients to identify suitable situations for self-advocacy, apply sound judgment when disclosing personal information, and strengthen communication skills through role-playing. Finally, the chapter guides clients in planning a second immersion experience to consolidate learned skills, monitor progress, and prepare for ongoing self-advocacy in realworld contexts.
