Abstract This chapter guides clients in developing and strengthening social interactions that support their STEPS goals. It begins by reviewing previous practice exercises to assess progress in problem-solving and selfawareness. The chapter explores social motivation, prompting clients to reflect on their social needs, identify strengths and challenges, and plan strategies for both in-person and online engagement using Worksheet 7.1. It then focuses on skill-building through practical exercises in initiating conversations, joining social groups, and interpreting non-verbal cues, with an emphasis on self-regulation and meaningful connection. Finally, the chapter addresses the process of self-disclosure of an autism spectrum disorder diagnosis, encourages role-play and coping strategies for social initiation, and concludes by assigning follow-up practice and scheduling the next session.
