National and international educational assessments have consistently highlighted significant gaps in the mathematical learning of Brazilian students (Cordeiro, 2024). Countries in Europe and the United States have adopted the use of digital games to enhance learning outcomes, consequently improving performance in these assessments. Aiming to understand the Brazilian context regarding the use of digital games and their integration into mathematics education, this article employs a qualitative approach by analyzing publications in the journals of the Brazilian Society of Mathematics Education (SBEM). The study seeks to investigate the use of digital games and their contribution to mathematics learning in Brazil. The results of this analysis reveal a limited number of publications on this topic, underscoring the need for more in-depth research as well as initial and ongoing teacher training programs to equip mathematics educators with the knowledge and skills necessary to integrate digital games into their teaching practices.
