This study analyzes academic management under the open and distance education modality at the Alejandro de Humboldt University (UAH), based on the need to strengthen educational quality in the face of the challenges of digital transformation. The general objective was to analyze the administrative and academic processes that support this modality to identify areas for institutional improvement. Methodologically, the research was framed in a quantitative approach, descriptive type with a non-experimental and cross-sectional design. A structured questionnaire under the Likert scale was applied to a sample of twenty directors and academic coordinators of the institution. The results showed significant weaknesses in the dissemination of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) policies, as well as a low budget allocation for research and virtual teaching. It is concluded that there is an imperative need to implement an integral management model that incorporates specialized departments in distance education and educational technology. This proposal seeks to generate synergy between the administrative and pedagogical dimensions, optimizing the student's training experience and organizational efficiency in virtual environments.
