In 2025, males of Metzneria lappella (Linnaeus, 1758) (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae) were captured on Sakhalin Island (Russia) in sticky traps baited with EFETOV-2 (a patented name of butan-2-yl dodec-2-enoate) known as a synthetic sex attractant for many Zygaenidae species. This is the first report on the chemical structure of a sex attractant for M. lappella.
