Attraction of Procridinae (Lepidoptera: Zygaenidae) species by sex attractants from the series ‘EFETOV-2’ in Laos, Thailand and Iran

Sex attractants from the series ‘EFETOV-2’ (a patented name) synthesised at the Crimean Federal University and tested by the second author in northern Laos, northern Thailand and northern Iran. EFETOV-2 allowed to discover a new species of a new genus of Procridinae (Lepidoptera: Zygaenidae), viz. Goazrea lao Mollet, 2016. New data on the distribution of Goazrea lao is also provided. In addition, specimens of the genus Phacusa Walker, 1854, were attracted to Efetov-2. The attractiveness of EFETOV-2 was also shown for the males of Zygaenoprocris (Zygaenoprocris) khorassana (Alberti, 1939) and Zygaenoprocris (Efetovia) fredi (Alberti, 1939) in Iran. Semiochemicals for all these Procridinae were previously unknown.
