The aim of this chapter is to explain the learning-oriented approach and the teaching-oriented approach to education. It outlines the tasks and activities of the various stakeholders (partners-in-learning) involved and introduces a DBL pedagogical framework to highlight pedagogical strategies that foster learning, research and design processes in DBL.
