Abstract This chapter introduces the Stepped Transition to Employment and Postsecondary Education Success (STEPS) program, which supports young autistic adults (YAAs) in developing independence through selfknowledge, self-determination, and self-regulation. It explains the purpose of the Coach Workbook as a structured guide for parents, caregivers, and other supporters—called coaches—to assist YAAs while maintaining boundaries that foster autonomy. The chapter outlines the structure of the STEPS program, including 12 modular sessions, six check-ins, two community-based immersion experiences, and individualized activities that align with each participant’s developmental goals. It defines the coach’s role in reinforcing learned skills, sustaining motivation, promoting organization, and linking program activities to the YAA’s real-life objectives while respecting their ownership of the process. Finally, the chapter presents practical guidelines and examples of immersion activities that help YAAs apply acquired skills in authentic community, educational, and employment contexts to strengthen confidence, independence, and self-advocacy.
