原始摘要(英文原文)· Original abstract
Because biologics and biopharmaceuticals are needed more, bio-manufacturing has risen as the main method for producing future health therapies. This chapter investigates the development, concepts, and innovations powering sustainable bio-manufacturing and turning normal production into greener and more sustainable systems. Traditional manufacturing challenges are covered first, after which the text moves on to green chemistry, the circular bioeconomy, and using sustainability metrics when designing processes. New technologies such as single-use bioreactors, continuous manufacturing, modern cell culture systems, digital twins, synthetic biology, and AI being used in process control are being talked about. The whole process of manufacturing biologics, including the cell line development and processing for purification, is influenced by QbD and PAT, which help make the process more robust and maintained by regulatory rules. Examples of using emerging platforms for mRNA vaccines, biosimilars, and developing plant-based medicines show they are ready for practical use and help the environment. Scale-up problems, issues with unified regulations, and bioethical matters are discussed too. Lastly, the chapter points out future changes such as producing biomedical goods out-of-town, providing treatment as needed, and making healthcare systems strengthened against climate changes. Involving insights from several fields, the chapter functions as an all-inclusive resource for people interested in making biopharmaceutical production more sustainable and progressive.
