The text seeks to indicate the connection between Kant’s idea of subjectivity and Wittgenstein’s understanding of the relationship between language and the world as the fundamental determination of human action. In this context, it elaborates the problem of the subject in Kant’s philosophy and highlights Kant’s thought as the foundation of Wittgenstein’s philosophy of language and his understanding of the world as an attempt to overcome the metaphysical category of subjectivity. Following the development of Wittgenstein’s thought—from the early to the later Wittgenstein—it examines his account of the relationship between language and the world in order to establish the boundaries between sense and nonsense. Wittgenstein’s conception of philosophy, viewed through the prism of silence concerning the ineffable, nevertheless entails unavoidable metaphysical frameworks that lead the thinker toward the realm of what cannot be said but can only be approached through showing or presentation. The trajectory and philosophical aspiration that permeate Wittgenstein’s thought point to the possibility of liberation from metaphysical constraints, provided that no room is left for conceptions that transcend the limits of language. In reflecting on the relationship between language and reality, Wittgenstein emerges as one of the foremost critics of traditional metaphysics and as a pioneer of the modern critique of metaphysics, understood in the context of language as the elucidation of the essence of human existence and the modern world.
