Enoclerus insidiosus (Gorham) (Coleoptera: Cleridae) is recorded from Mexico for the frst time. Tis represents an approximately 1500 km extension from its previously known most northerly distribution in Guanacaste Province, Costa Rica. We surmise that this geographical gap and the lack of previous reporting of its presence in Mexico may be an artifact of its appearance during the dry season: a time of year when few entomologists are active in the feld.
