Healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) are a common complication in critically ill obstetric patients, increasing maternal morbidity and mortality and hospital costs. This review analyzed the effectiveness of nursing interventions to prevent HAIs by searching PubMed, Scopus, SciELO, and CINAHL for articles published between 2019 and 2024. The most effective interventions include rigorous hand hygiene, aseptic management of invasive devices, monitoring for signs of infection, education of staff and patients, and implementation of care bundles. In addition, continuing education and an institutional culture of safety improve adherence to these practices. It is concluded that nursing actions are essential to reduce IAAS in this group, provided they are implemented systematically, consistently, and with institutional support, reinforcing the importance of specialized training.
