Urban agriculture is emerging as a pivotal strategy in addressing global food security challenges in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities). This study examines key determinants influencing the success of urban farming in enhancing local food availability in Indonesia’s metropolitan areas. Using direct surveys, interviews, and statistical analyses via SEM-WarpPLS, the research reveals that urban agriculture significantly improves the accessibility of nutritious, affordable food while promoting socio-economic benefits. The findings stress the importance of integrating urban farming into national food policies and urban development strategies to foster food security and community well-being. Variables such as age, education, innovation in human resources, agricultural technology, and community empowerment are central to the sustainable implementation of urban farming. This paper advocates for enhanced education programs, institutional support, and better access to modern agricultural technologies to ensure urban agriculture's long-term success as a viable solution for sustainable urban food systems.
