The Nuclear Safety Seminar (Seminar Keselamatan Nuklir, SKN), organized by the Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency of Indonesia (BAPETEN) since 2001, publishes proceedings on nuclear regulatory oversight. However, a systematic study mapping the dynamics of research trends within these proceedings has not yet been available. This study aims to analyze research trends in nuclear regulatory oversight in the SKN Proceedings for the period 2011–2024 using bibliometric analysis based on science mapping through co-word analysis with VOSviewer. The results show that article productivity peaked in 2019 with a total of 83 articles. The dominant topics include safety, regulations, and nuclear power plants (NPPs), with safety serving as the central topic. Cluster analysis identifies seven main clusters encompassing nuclear regulation and safety, reactor technology, competence and nuclear security, safety culture, radiation protection and safety, safety evaluation, as well as issues related to radiation workers and NORM/TENORM. Furthermore, computed tomography (CT) scans and small modular reactor (SMR) emerge as recent research trends. In contrast, high-temperature gas-cooled reactor (HTGR) and thorium remain relatively underexplored and have the potential to become future research directions.
