Axelhausmannia – a new genus of Metarbelidae (Lepidoptera: Cossoidea) from the equatorial Africa

The article provides the description of a new genus, Axelhausmannia gen. n. (Lepidoptera: Cossoidea: Metarbelidae), with two new species, Axelhausmannia zaida sp. n. (type species from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kasai Province) and Axelhausmannia basilewskyi sp. n. (from Gabon). The new genus is closely related to Janegoodallia Lehmann, 2014 (type species: Janegoodallia davenporti Lehmann, 2014). The article is illustrated with figures of type specimens and male genitalia of both genera, as well as a distribution map.
