COLLECTION DEVELOPMENT AS WELL AS CIRCULATION DYNAMICS OF PRINT RESOURCES IN THE CENTRAL LIBRARY, IIT KHARAGPUR DURING LAST 10 YEARS (2016-2025): AN INVESTIGATION

The study investigated the collection development and circulation dynamics of print resources in the Central Library, IIT Kharagpur during last 10 years (2016)(2017)(2018)(2019)(2020)(2021)(2022)(2023)(2024)(2025) extracting the acquisition as well as circulation data from LibSys-Library Management System.With the cumulative add-ons and preservation of printed books for more than seven decades created a vast treasure of print collection but gradual decline in the circulation dynamics is evident in course of the investigation.It is very much necessary to evaluate actual requirement vs holding framing a suitable collection development as well as weeding out policy so as to improve circulation dynamics of the library.
