This paper provides a comprehensive review of deteriorating inventory models, including emerging topics from peer-reviewed research articles published between January 2016 and December 2024. By employing a thorough search strategy and narrative synthesis, this study analyzes the literature, classifies methodologies, and identifies research trends. Building on the work of Janssen et al. (2016) , this review incorporates adaptive, data-driven inventory systems that balance operational efficiency, economic objectives, environmental responsibility, and practical applications.
