Diagnostic potential of a modern textbook for the secondary vocational education system (the case of the discipline “Russian Language and Culture of Professional Communication of a Pedagogue”)

The study aims to theoretically substantiate the methodological system for monitoring the professional communicative skills of pedagogical college students, as implemented in the author’s textbook “Russian Language and Culture of Professional Communication of a Pedagogue”. This system is presented as an integrated framework that complies with the requirements of the model work program and the Federal State Educational Standard for Secondary Vocational Education (FSES SVE). The core content of the article is devoted to a structural-functional analysis of the textbook’s diagnostic apparatus for the specialty 44.02.02 “Primary School Teaching”. The article substantiates the principles for constructing the monitoring system, proposes a typology of assessment tools, and establishes the correspondence of each group to the levels of cognitive activity according to Bloom’s Taxonomy. The novelty of the research lies in the fact that, unlike traditional manuals where the development of assessment tools is left to the teacher’s discretion, this work provides a theoretical justification for a diagnostic apparatus model specifically integrated into an SVE textbook. The systematic organization of monitoring is considered a necessary condition for the textbook to fulfill its monitoring and diagnostic function. To date, this issue has not been the subject of specific scientific analysis concerning SVE educational publications. The effectiveness of the study is confirmed by external expert evaluation: following a public review, the textbook was recognized as meeting the requirements for practice-orientation, fundamentality, and educational focus, and it won the “Golden Fund” book award in the “Discovery of the Year – 2025” category.
