The growing trend of vertical development in coastal cities has increased the need to understand the behaviour of high-rise buildings subjected to wind loading. The present study focuses on assessing the wind response of a G+30 reinforced concrete building with different plan configurations situated in a coastal environment. Wind loads will be determined using the Gust Factor Method as specified in IS 875 (Part 3), allowing the dynamic effects of wind to be incorporated into the analysis. Four building layouts, namely square, L-shaped, C-shaped, and T-shaped plans, having the same floor area, will be considered for comparison. Structural modelling and analysis will be performed using ETABS software. To examine the influence of vertical irregularity, soft storey provisions will be introduced at the 15th, 20th, and 25th floor levels in each building model. The performance of the structures will be assessed using response parameters such as lateral displacement, storey drift, base shear, and torsional response under wind action. The study aims to examine the combined influence of plan geometry and soft storey irregularity on the dynamic behaviour of tall buildings located in coastal regions.
