<b>A preservação do patrimônio cultural imaterial</b>

Introduction: The consolidation of Information Science occurred when it moved away from the more technical approach to memory and its conceptualization, beginning to understand it within the context of social construction and cultural formation. This shift allows for the establishment of a connection between Information Science and the Humanities, thus giving rise to debates on the preservation of cultural heritage, the topic of this article. Objective: This article investigates the practices of organizing, archiving, and retrieving personal content on digital platforms, considering the growing importance of digital memory in contemporary society. Methodology: The methodology adopted was qualitative, with a bibliographic approach that included the analysis of relevant articles and studies in the Capes, SciELO, and Brapci databases. Results: It was possible to perceive the importance of effective strategies for managing digital memory, emphasizing that the preservation of collective memory is fundamental to the construction of cultural identity. Conclusion: Cultural institutions play an active role in the mediation and dissemination of intangible heritage, adapting to new digital realities to ensure that collective memories are preserved and accessible to future generations.
