Searching for a Surface Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Shape to Reduce Torque Ripple at Multiple Operating Points

One of the causes of torque ripple is magnetic saturation. In this study, we obtained a stator core shape for a surface permanent magnet synchronous motor that is less likely to cause magnetic saturation by setting the reduction of magnetic reluctance as the objective function. In addition, we show that the torque ripple can be significantly reduced at multiple operating points by using the obtained stator core shape.
