We describe the development of GutDigest, a new online educational game, to enhance the teaching, learning, and assessment of macromolecular digestion, which is a complex topic in gastrointestinal physiology courses across various curricula of medical and health science programs globally. The game will be a useful revision resource for students and an assessment tool for tutors to gauge their knowledge after being exposed to preliminary teaching of the topic.
