Abstract The bicycle is a multisensory human‐powered machine that allows the anthropologist to take in flashes of everyday life. This article discusses in brief the accidental insights a cycling practice can offer an ethnographer's writing practice as a bodily and sensory pathway to reigniting the humanity in what we do, one pedal (and eventual key) stroke at a time.
