The combined RF, MNRF, and DMSt approach achieves significant, albeit partial, improvement with a favorable safety profile by targeting both skin and underlying musculature.
BACKGROUND: Facial aging is a multilayered process involving the skin, subcutaneous tissue, and facial musculature.
OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of an integrated radiofrequency (RF), microneedle radiofrequency (MNRF), and dynamic muscle stimulation (DMSt) approach for facial rejuvenation.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: Participants with moderate-to-severe facial wrinkles received 3 treatment sessions at 1-month intervals using a combined radiofrequency (RF), microneedle radiofrequency (MNRF), and dynamic muscle stimulation (DMSt) device, with clinical outcomes and safety evaluated during follow-up.
RESULTS: Significant improvement in facial wrinkles and overall appearance was observed at 1, 3, and 6 months after 3 treatments. All treated participants demonstrated improvement on the Global Aesthetic Improvement Scale (GAIS), whereas no improvement was observed in untreated controls (p < .001). Fitzpatrick-Goldman Wrinkle and Elastosis Scale (FWES) scores and patient satisfaction also improved. Although partial attenuation of effects was noted at later follow-up, outcomes remained superior to controls. Adverse events were mild, transient, and well tolerated.
CONCLUSION: The combined RF, MNRF, and DMSt approach achieves significant, albeit partial, improvement with a favorable safety profile by targeting both skin and underlying musculature.
