This essay examines brave space-making as witnessing, understood as an embodied and socio-material practice of staying present amid vulnerability. Through fieldwork vignettes from prisons, recovery settings, and autoethnographic inquiry, the authors show how sensorial sensemaking orients relational engagement and constitutes witnessing as a narrative act.
