Spark plasma sintered pellets of a KAl0.33W1.67O6 defect pyrochlore demonstrated an average total K+ conductivity of 1.1 × 10-3 S cm-1 at room temperature, which is a record value for potassium ionic conductors. This study reveals the potential of defect pyrochlores as solid electrolytes for potassium-ion batteries.
