A novel H2S-activatable NIR-II fluorescent probe (SOBDP) has been developed for early detection of drug-induced liver injury (DILI). Upon cleavage by H2S, the probe exhibited a 10.5-fold fluorescence turn-on response at 910 nm. It enables rapid, selective imaging of hepatic H2S, significantly outperforming conventional serum assays in detection time and sensitivity.
