A high-temperature in situ electrochemical activation method is developed to achieve the maximum capacity of V2O5 within only two charge-discharge cycles (60 °C and 0.2 A g-1). High-temperature electrochemistry accelerates the dissolution-recrystallization process of V2O5, providing a rapid, energy-efficient route to high-performance cathodes for aqueous zinc-ion batteries.
