A green one-pot hydrothermal method produces amorphous carbon nanoflowers with a spiky structure and peroxidase-like activity. These nanozymes enhance luminol chemiluminescence 130-fold via generation of reactive oxygen species, which enables dopamine detection with a limit of 5.35 nM, demonstrating the promise of carbon nanozymes in chemiluminescence bioanalysis.
