In CoOOHCuO@CeO 2 , CeO 2 serves as an electronic modulation center, directing electron transfer from Cu to Co via the formed Co–O–Ce interface, which enhances charge transfer efficiency and promotes the conversion of 5 hydroxymethylfurfural.
