ABSTRACT Diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) is a chronic complication of diabetes, primarily caused by hyperglycemia, peripheral vascular disease, and neuropathy. Characterized by persistent hyperglycemia, impaired perfusion, inflammation, and infection, DFUs pose significant challenges to healing and are associated with high morbidity and amputation rates. Traditional treatments struggle to balance infection control and tissue regeneration, necessitating more effective strategies. Recent advancements in nanotechnology have led to the development of responsive nanocomposite hydrogels tailored for DFU management. These hydrogels, incorporating nanomaterials with photothermal and ROS‐scavenging properties, can dynamically modulate the wound environment to promote tissue repair. This review explores the latest innovations in nanomaterial‐based hydrogels for DFU, highlighting their multifunctionality, clinical challenges, and future potential to enhance patient outcomes.
