原始摘要(英文原文)· Original abstract
Preterm infants admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit often require supportive positioning to promote comfort, physiological stability, and appropriate postural alignment. This case report describes the immediate physiological response of a medically stable low birth weight preterm infant during a single 120-minute positioning session using a novel preterm positioning device. A male infant born at 35 weeks of gestation was positioned in the supine position after achieving clinical stability at 37 weeks of gestation, and heart rate, respiratory rate, and peripheral oxygen saturation were monitored throughout the session. The infant remained clinically stable, with all physiological parameters staying within normal limits and no adverse events observed. The positioning device was well tolerated during routine care and appeared to support physiological stability. Although these findings are encouraging, further research involving larger groups of preterm infants is needed to determine the clinical effectiveness and longer-term benefits of this positioning approach.
