Double Thoracic Duct Cyst: Case Report and Review of the Literature.

The thoracic duct, the largest lymphatic vessel in the human body, originates from the cisterna chyli in the abdomen, ascends through the thorax, and drains into the left venous angle, at the junction of the left internal jugular and subclavian veins in the lower cervical region. A lymph collection (lymphocele) resulting from persistent leakage of a lymphatic duct in this region is occasionally observed following surgical procedures. In contrast, true cysts arising from the thoracic duct are exceedingly rare. We report a unique case of a double cervical thoracic duct cyst in an elderly patient, successfully managed with surgical treatment. The diagnostic workup, therapeutic options, and treatment outcomes, including complications, are discussed.
