The textual coherence and its impact on reading comprehension among high school students of the “Santa Mariana de Jesus” Private Educational Unit in Chone. Textual coherence is defined as a semantic unit structured through cohesion and thematic order. Adopting an sequential design with a mixed – methods approach. The 50 students were surveyed following a comprehensive literature review and institutional authorization. The findings reveal that 96% of students identify connectors as key tools for facilitating coherence. Additionally, 96% affirm that technological benefits in education are essential. Regarding comprehension strategies, 80% prioritize the identification of main ideas and relevant details. In the textual inferences, 70% recognize environmental causes. The 90% confuse incoherence with semantic errors. The discussion highlights the intrinsic link between cohesion, coherence, and reading comprehension. It is thus concluded that reinforcing textual coherence through pedagogical instruments will enhance reading comprehension, fostering personal and academic improvement.
