The study of methane, carbon, and climate change plays a crucial role in supporting global climate change mitigation and sustainable natural resource management. However, the development of knowledge structures, scientific collaboration patterns, and the geopolitics of research in this field have not been comprehensively studied. This study aims to analyze the development of publications, conceptual structures, international collaboration networks, and their implications for forestry politics and global climate governance. The method used is a bibliometric analysis of 485 Scopus-indexed articles from 2016-2026 using Biblioshiny-Bibliometrix based on RStudio. The analysis results show an average annual publication growth rate of 3.9%, with an international collaboration rate of 44.33%. Knowledge production is dominated by China, the United States, and European countries, which are also centers of global collaboration networks. The University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Aarhus University, and the Institute of Atmospheric Physics are the most productive institutions. Thematic analysis shows a shift in research from a focus on greenhouse gas emissions to more integrative studies of the carbon cycle, land-use change, forest management, ecosystem restoration, and ecosystem-based climate change mitigation. Lotka and Bradford's law indicates that author productivity and knowledge dissemination are still concentrated in the hands of a few actors and publishers. This plays a crucial role in the geopolitics of knowledge that influences global carbon, forestry, and climate change policies. Indonesia's role as a country with extensive tropical forests, peatlands, and mangrove ecosystems contributes significantly to the global carbon balance. Therefore, strengthening research capacity, expanding international collaboration, and increasing publications in reputable journals are needed to strengthen Indonesia's position as a knowledge producer and a key actor in global climate and forestry governance.
