Watershed management plays a crucial role in maintaining the ecosystem of air resources, hydrological functions, and ecosystem balance. This study aims to analyze the development of publications, key issues, and strategies for watershed management in Indonesia through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach and bibliometric analysis. The research data were sourced from 225 Scopus-indexed articles for the period 1982–2026, analyzed using Biblioshiny-Bibliometrix based on RStudio and VOSviewer. The analysis results show that watershed management research in Indonesia has experienced significant growth with a publication growth rate of 7.05% per year. The research structure is dominated by the topics of watershed management, water management, sustainability, climate change, and water conservation. Thematic analysis identified four main issues: land degradation and erosion, climate change and hydrological vulnerability, air quality decline, and deforestation and land cover change. The recommended management strategies include soil and air conservation, integrated watershed management (Integrated Watershed Management), and the use of geospatial technology and hydrological modeling. Research developments also indicate a paradigm shift from a physical conservation approach to watershed management that is more integrated with ecological, social, economic, institutional, and geospatial technology aspects. Therefore, watershed management in Indonesia needs to be directed toward a more adaptive, evidence-based, and ecosystem-focused approach to increase the resilience of water resources and ecosystems to the pressures of land-use change and climate change.
