This study aimed to analyze the contribution of innovation in public management to strengthening gerontological care in Ecuador, considering its impact on the quality, accessibility, comprehensiveness, and sustainability of services for older adults. A qualitative research approach was used, employing a descriptive-analytical document review. Information was obtained from the analysis of ten scientific and technical documents published between 2022 and 2025, selected through a targeted search of academic databases and publications from international and national organizations. The results showed that innovation in public management strengthens gerontological care through the redesign of institutional processes, information interoperability, coordination between the health and social protection sectors, professional development of human resources, and the strengthening of care systems. Furthermore, the study identified that the accessibility and continuity of services depend on person-centered care models, complemented by digital inclusion strategies and territorial approaches. Similarly, the sustainability of services requires financing mechanisms, collaborative governance, ongoing evaluation, and support for caregivers. It is concluded that innovation in public management is a strategic element for responding to the population aging process in Ecuador, by promoting results-oriented, evidence-based management focused on generating public value through more comprehensive, equitable, accessible, and sustainable gerontological services.
