PLLA combined with ADM can significantly improve abdominal striae gravidarum and skin laxity, enhance skin elasticity and firmness, and has a long-lasting effect with good safety.
OBJECTIVE: To investigate the clinical efficacy and safety of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) combined with acellular dermal matrix (ADM) in the treatment of abdominal adiposity, skin laxity, and striae gravidarum.
METHODS: A total of 206 patients with abdominal skin laxity and striae gravidarum were divided into a control group (n = 97) and an observation group (n = 109) in this retrospective analysis. The control group received conventional treatment, whereas the observation group received PLLA combined with ADM injections. Clinical efficacy, satisfaction, recurrence rate, and adverse reactions were compared, and changes in skin morphology and functional indicators were assessed.
RESULTS: The total effective rate (87.16%), satisfaction rate (95.41%), and treatment maintenance rates at 3 and 6 months of follow-up were significantly higher in the observation group than in the control group (all P<0.05), whereas the incidences of skin injury and pigmentation were significantly lower in the observation group (both P<0.05). After treatment, the depth and area of striae gravidarum decreased in both groups, and skin elasticity indicators increased, with more significant improvement in the observation group (all P < 0.05).
CONCLUSION: PLLA combined with ADM can significantly improve abdominal striae gravidarum and skin laxity, enhance skin elasticity and firmness, and has a long-lasting effect with good safety.
