This article examines methodological approaches to improving the environmental and economic efficiency of railway transport enterprises through the analysis and adaptation of international experience in the development of transport systems. Particular attention is given to the adaptation of international best practices to the operating conditions of railway transport enterprises in the Republic of Uzbekistan, taking into account the national priorities for transport infrastructure development and the implementation of the green economy strategy. The research findings can be applied in the formulation of sectoral policies, the development of railway modernization programs, and further scientific studies addressing the sustainable development of the transport sector.
