This study evaluates the work performance of student trainees of the Bachelor of Arts in English Language Program through the Host Training Entities (HTEs) assessment for the school year 2024-2025. Specifically, this study aims at determining how the HTE supervisors assess the performance of the student trainees, and analyze the validity and reliability of the OJT (on-the-job training) rating tool, and identify the improvements for the performance of the trainees. The study used a mixed-methods approach and a survey structured with questions and incorporated the qualitative comments of the HTE supervisors in Tabuk City, Kalinga. It was found that the performance of the student trainees was assessed as very satisfactory, and that the majority of the student trainees met or exceeded the requirements of the demands of the workplace. It was found that the OJT rating tool was valid, as it measured the workplace skills and competencies of trainees, and the evaluation of the rating tool showed trainees' effectiveness, professionalism, engagement in teamwork, initiative, and flexibility. It was remarked that the OJT evaluation tool had a limitation of gathering insufficient qualitative comments. It is significant to underscore training and evaluation to meet and prepare students for the challenges of the labor market. It can be concluded from this study, that the OJT programs, have been effective in promoting skills for employability, as this incorporates the preparation of the students for the actual working environment, but the programs need to be improved to fill the gaps of the competencies.
