原始摘要(英文原文)· Original abstract
This study aims to analyze the concept of uswatun ḥasanah (UH) in the Islamic literature and its relevance to leadership principles, particularly in the context of contemporary leadership. The research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical design through content analysis techniques. The findings indicate that UH, as described in the Quran and Hadith, serves as a model of exemplary conduct, encompassing values of justice, honesty, empathy, and moral and spiritual responsibility. These values are not only aligned with Islamic leadership principles, but also correspond to modern leadership theories. The application of UH values can strengthen the integrity, effectiveness, and sustainability of leadership in organizations, communities, and governments. This study recommends that Muslim leaders integrate UH values into every aspect of their leadership, especially in terms of practicing justice, honesty, and empathy, while prioritizing consultation (shūrā) and transparency in the decision-making process. Such an approach is expected to foster a harmonious environment and support the success of the organizations or communities under Muslim leadership. Additionally, Muslim leaders are encouraged to continually enhance their understanding of Islamic leadership through formal education, training, and lifelong learning. This research contributes significantly to the development of Islamic leadership literature and practices, particularly in the context of leadership challenges in the era of globalization.
