The rapid development of AI technology has profoundly reshaped artistic creation models and industry ecology, and China’s art education system is facing adaptability challenges under the triple interaction of “technological change - industry demand - education supply”. Based on multi-dimensional frameworks such as Career Construction Theory and School Engagement Theory, this paper integrates more than 20 Chinese and English empirical studies and industry reports to systematically analyze the disconnection manifestations, causes, and solutions of art education and industry development in the AI era. The research finds that current art education has core problems including outdated curriculum content compared to the demand for AI tool application, misalignment between students’ digital literacy and the industry’s requirement for algorithmic capabilities and mismatching between educational models and the digital transformation of the creative economy. These issues lead to art students facing dilemmas such as identity crisis, increased occupational vulnerability, and insufficient employability. Based on this, this paper proposes an optimization path with “career construction” as the core, driving the innovation of educational content through digital transformation, strengthening employment adaptability by cultivating algorithmic literacy, and bridging the gap between educational practice and industry needs through university-enterprise collaboration. It aims to provide theoretical reference and practical guidance for the high-quality development of China’s art education in the AI era.
