The primary aim of this research is to explore the significance of household chores, particularly focusing on the issues linked with traditional clotheslines. Although economical, conventional clotheslines often prove impractical in unpredictable weather, causing inconveniences like sudden rain soaking the laundry. To address this problem, an Automated Clothesline Retrieval System has been designed. This innovative system utilizes various sensors, such as a humidity sensor, light dependent resistor, moisture sensor, and rain sensor, to continuously monitor weather conditions and automatically retract the clothesline when needed. Solar-powered and integrated with an Arduino platform, the system also includes a Wi-Fi application that notifies users of weather changes and allows them to manually control the clothesline via app. By employing Internet of Things (IoT) technology, this system facilitates outdoor drying without the worry of adverse weather, thus improving the efficiency and convenience of laundry tasks in contemporary households.
