First record of the genera Jenneria, Pseudocypraea, and Phenacovolva (Gastropoda: Ovulidae) in the Miocene fossil deposits of Java

Three new species of Ovulidae FLEMING, 1822 are described from the Miocene of Java, Indonesia, belonging to the genera Jenneria JOUSSEAUME, 1884, Pseudocypraea F.A. SCHILDER, 1927, and Phenacovolva IREDALE, 1930. Until now, the fossil record of these three genera was restricted to the Neogene of Western Europe, supplemented by a few occurrences along the eastern coasts of Central and North America for Jenneria and Phenacovolva. Their discovery in the Miocene of Indonesia therefore represents the first record of these genera from this region, further enhancing the diversity of the fossil fauna known from this geographical area and time interval.
