Defining the nature-positive economy: key concepts, challenges, and ways forward.

Although Nature Positive (NP) is a well-defined goal, clarity is needed on pathways to operationalise the concept across an economy. We provide a definition of the ‘Nature-Positive Economy’ co-created with stakeholders, identify five key challenges, and suggest ways forward. Deepening our understanding of a NP-aligned economy that reduces nature-negative impacts, increases nature-positive actions, and enacts transformative change is needed for an economic system that helps achieve the Global Biodiversity Framework.
