Research Ethics and Integrity

We may think that it is necessary to take care of the ethical and integrity-related aspects in one&s;s own research, but with increased seniority comes the expectation to lead others in their ethical choices in research. Becoming someone who leads on research ethics and integrity (REI) is a transition marking the growth and development from junior academic to greater seniority. We explore how REI leadership is displayed in interactions between senior and junior academics and discuss the roles and ways in which academics assume leadership in these discussions. At best, participants empower others to assume agency in ethical issues.
