Teaching and learning integrity and research ethics

This systematic literature review focuses on research on teaching and learning integrity and research ethics. We included peer-reviewed empirical research from 2020 to 2024 to reflect trends in teaching and learning integrity and research ethics post-pandemic and in the era of generative AI. Thirty-five publications were included for the review. We report the aims and foci, research methods, participants, geographical region, and main results of the reviewed publications. Quantitative research methods were more common, while qualitative approaches were applied less frequently. Key findings pertain to a focus on course development and pedagogical intervention, a focus on junior students, the importance of sustained learning and development of senior academics, global development of training infrastructure, and an interest in case studies and studies with a developmental approach.
