The Golden Whip video artwork weaves together practice-led research into atonement for multispecies injustice. An experiential approach to material-affect theory led the artist-philosopher to experiment with self-flagellation in response to the whipping of racehorses. The exploration in text and image draws then on historical entwining of horse and human in the ancient Mongolian region through to modern day filming of horse whipping shared by a veterinary science project.
