During 2021, early conversations between some of the editorial members began to look at creating a book about youth justice that prioritised views, experiences, and research relevant for working with youth in the justice system in Aotearoa New Zealand. As discussions continued, and a review of existing textbooks in the field was explored, there was a glaring omission in our opinion.
