Multidrug-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa (P. aeruginosa) causes a variety of illnesses and has become a major challenge in clinical settings. Outer membrane vesicles (OMVs) have attracted extensive research interest in recent years and are considered a promising platform for managing P. aeruginosa infections. Therefore, it is essential to comprehend the complex mechanisms and possible targets that underlie the interactions between pathogens and OMVs. In this review, we summarize the key components of P. aeruginosa OMVs (PA-OMVs), elucidate their pathogenicity mechanisms, and discuss their potential therapeutic targets. Finally, we provide an overview of recent advances in PA-OMV research.
